October 17: Scope Determinations in AD & CVD Proceedings with Brendan Saslow

Brendan Saslow is an associate with Blank Rome LLP.  His practice focuses on international trade matters, with notable experience in antidumping ("AD") and countervailing duty ("CVD") proceedings as well as other trade remedies, trade litigation, and international trade agreements.

Prior to private practice, Brendan served as a senior attorney at the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Office of the Chief Counsel for Trade Enforcement & Compliance. In this role, he served as legal counsel to agency officials advising on statutory and regulatory requirements, judicial precedent, and agency practice throughout administrative proceedings, involving a broad range of industries and countries. Brendan has also defended Department of Commerce determinations before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, U.S. Court of International Trade, World Trade Organization, and presented arguments before North American Free Trade Agreement panels. He has experience in AD and CVD investigations, administrative reviews, scope and circumvention inquiries, new shipper reviews, and sunset reviews, among other agency actions.

In addition to trade remedy proceedings, Brendan contributed to several rulemakings during his time with the Department of Commerce and provided regular legal advice to the Foreign-Trade Zones (“FTZ”) Board, which regulates FTZ activities across the United States.

During law school, Brendan served as executive contributing editor of the Case Western Law Review.
