The series will explore critical issues of interest to the trade community and will offer key legal and policy guidance. The speakers include practitioners located in the US and around the globe and have experience across a variety of institutions including law firms, corporations, and government agencies. The speakers will each give a lecture on a specific topic followed by a Q&A session open to all participants. November 14:  Interactions of Brokers and Clients regarding Prior Disclosures of Potential Violations of 19 USC 1592 Under Recent Amendments to 19 CFR Part 111 

Amadi Anene will discuss the recent amendments to 19 CFR Part 111 to how brokers and their clients interact when the broker or client discovers potential violations of 19 USC 1592. He will discuss these changes in the context of a prior disclosure to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
 

Amadi Anene is an associate at DLA Piper.  He focuses his practice in international trade, with particular focus on import and customs matters, export controls, and U.S. sanctions matters. He works with clients on complex litigation and regulatory matters, including those before various U.S. government agencies. He also dedicates much of his practice to providing pro bono representation, such as through the Washington Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights and Urban Affairs.
