The Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and the Trial and Appellate Practice Committees of CITBA are pleased to host this moot court competition in honor of James L. Watson, one of the first Black American judges to serve on the U.S. Court of International Trade (CIT). The competition is designed to provide junior/mid-level attorneys and law students an opportunity to argue a mock case before a federal judge and gain valuable litigation-related experience.
Eligible Applicants: Attorneys with less than seven years of experience and law students, from all backgrounds, are invited to apply. Application window will be open January 8-24, 2025. Competition will be held on March 21, 2025, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Application contents: name; place of employment or law school; and a cover letter (limited to one page) demonstrating your interest in this competition and/or the importance of inclusiveness in the practice of international trade and customs law.
